By: info@speedmartinc.com ~ 5/16/2016

 ASCS Southwest Region

For the seventh time in his career, Bob Ream, Jr. would take his Service Launch #8 to Victory Lane with the Carlyle Tools ASCS Southwest Region at the Central Arizona Speedway on April 23, 2016.

Bob would give chase the first 14 laps as Lorne Wofford would show the way.  Bob would work past Wofford with an inside line move to take the lead. A pair of cautions near the end of the race we’re not enough for Lorne to rebound to the lead.  Lorne would get the runner up spot as Colton Hardy would take third.

SpeedMart Hard Charger - James Aragon coming from 18th to take ninth.

Wofford, Ryan Linder and Lance Norick would take heat wins.

For the first time in his career, Stevie Sussex would take the win with the Carlyle Tools ASCS Southwest Region as he would get the job done at Arizona Speedway on May 14, 2016.

Sussex would run in second the first half of the race, behind the Rick Ziehl's #21Z.  Stevie would make the race winning pass on lap 12 from Ziehl, who would hold on to finish second.  Bob Ream, Jr. would take the third spot.

SpeedMart Hard Charger - Lance Norick finishing fifth after starting 14th.

Heats were won by Rickey Hood, Ziehl and Kaylene Verville.

NAPA  Desert Sprint Car Series - Non-Wing

RJ Johnson would win at Arizona Speedway in the NAPA Desert Sprint Car Series on May 14, 2016.

Dustin Cormany took second and J.W. Shelton, Jr. finished third.

On April 23rd Joshua Shipley would take the win at Central Arizona Speedway in Casa Grande, Arizona.

The night would start off rough when Joshua would be disqualified from the heat race because he fell off the top of the race track in turn 2 and re-entered the racetrack in the wrong location. “Roger Toops, our race director, made the right call. We discussed the rule at the drivers meeting and I did not re-enter the race track in the correct location” –Joshua Shipley. The result would be Joshua starting dead last in the main event. Joshua would charge his way through the field while the race went 17 laps caution free.  The caution would come out on lap 17.  Joshua would be sitting 3rd behind Dustin Cormany and Cody Batten. On the restart, with only 3 laps remaining, Cody Batten would be able to slip by Cormany for the lead as Joshua followed Batten by Cormany. As they took the white flag down the front straight away Joshua was able to get a great run off of turn 2 and complete the pass for the lead through turns 3 & 4 and take the win.

Cody Batten finished second and Matt Lundy was third.

Joshua would receive the SpeedMart Hard Charger Award as he came from 16th to take the win.

Rick Shuman would receive the SpeedMart Hard Luck Award.
